Krusevac (Serbian Kruševac; Serbian Cyrillic: Крушевац) is a city and municipality in central Serbia. Krusevac was founded in 1371. It was in Krusevac that the Serbian noble, Prince Lazar, assembled a Serb army to march against the Turks, at the Battle of Kosovo, in 1389. The site of his palace is marked by a ruined enclosure containing a fragment of the tower of Queen Milica, whither, according to legend, tidings of the defeat were brought to her by crows from the battlefield. Within the enclosure stands a church, dating from the same time.
