Krusevac (Serbian Kruševac; Serbian Cyrillic: Крушевац) is a city and municipality in central Serbia. Krusevac was founded in 1371. It was in Krusevac that the Serbian noble, Prince Lazar, assembled a Serb army to march against the Turks, at the Battle of Kosovo, in 1389. The site of his palace is marked by a ruined enclosure containing a fragment of the tower of Queen Milica, whither, according to legend, tidings of the defeat were brought to her by crows from the battlefield. Within the enclosure stands a church, dating from the same time. Several old Turkish houses were left at the beginning of the 20th century, besides an old Turkish fountain and bath, which was known as Alacahisar during Ottoman rule ... more on Wikipedia.
