Lushnja (Albanian: Lushnj‘ or Lushnje) is a town in Central-West Albania located. It is the center of the District of Lushnje in the County of Fier and has a population of about 68,000. The town was founded in late medieval times by an Turkish widow called Salushe. She built a rest stop on the road from Durres to Berat, giving birth to the town. As of 2000, old men still called the town Salushe. 3 km away from Lushnje is the Savra Field. This field is on the Lushnje-Fier road.
